Every week, people ask me, "How is working going?" They assume the answer is, "I got a raise today." or "Just another day." Every day is adventurous and new so I can tell you a new plan, and you will be shocked that this is happening. Work doesn't feel like work. It's a rare thing that many people around me state, but it's true. I am highly productive, and I don't have a bad day. Each day, I wake up and try to find a new avenue of income and opportunities since I could quickly lose all my work in one day. I don't have the stability like everyone else, but this lifestyle keeps me on my toes to think about innovation and creativity. As a result, I have fun during the process, expand before the process begins, and eat swell after. Overall, this should be what work is really about.
Above is an image of one of the contestants from Music Bingo Night! It was my first time hosting Music Bingo at Laurel's on 14th Street. I was perplexed about why someone like me would host Music Bingo, yet people seem to enjoy it! So here we are 🙌 !
Movie Monday: Kill Bill
I am very excited about this movie night. Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite filmmakers. I am geeked to feature Kill Bill Volume 1 during this movie night. This will be our 4th installation of Movie Monday. If you saw Kill Bill, then Please Tell Me that 749 Metropolitan Avenue is the destination for March 25th to see the movie. We will feature our special drink, O-ren Ishii, as our specialty drink of the night. The event is entirely free. Bring friends and enjoy a wonderful time.

NYFW 2024
No Rival Studio Pop-Shop was dope. There were a ton of sound designers and a fantastic time. It was a room full of creatives from all over the country. I didn’t know how to emcee many different cultures, but it got done. I enjoyed myself that day. Thanks, Jaelin, for allowing me to collaborate with you.
Upstairs: Short Film
David Renaud, THE GOAT, is a super talented creative. I give him flowers each newsletter because his vision for film truly inspires me. I had the opportunity to play an extra in his short film, Upstairs. Upstairs is about a detective helping a civilian find her father. I believe the movie is a crime and thriller, but I could be completely wrong, haha. The movie brings back the film noir era, and that’s what gravitated to me as a consumer.
Check David’s work here; he has worked with many amazing creatives.
NYC Wizard Fest
When the mic drops on the stage, you know people are really into something. Wizard Fest NYC was a great way to start my adventures in the wizard world. It was a rainy day, but people came out and showed their best costume and talent. I have seen singers, dancers, and more during the show. The uniqueness of this show was that people were willing to come together to connect and network. I truly appreciate the creation of this space and am excited to carry the momentum into Louisville and Indianapolis next month. If you are around, come through.
Crossover Culture
I have been in a fascinating mode lately as I continue to celebrate the fun projects and things I have been working on. For six months, I have worked as a content creation and social media manager with a small sneaker company, Crossover Culture. I have enjoyed covering games, talking to players, and, more importantly, getting back to brand development. With these five players, I can do the same thing I have been doing within the music business area: Development! I will be activating new events with them and combining everything. These are exciting times, and I am excited.
Conclusion
Destroying the self and building it back up is a part of understanding what productivity is I think. If you are able to see that, then you can maximize your effort and not trick yourself in a game of working harder than ever. You find a ton of peace in the work and you are maximizing the time. Recently, I watched this movie called Revolver featuring Andre 3000 and Jason Statham. One of the main topics is about ego and how one can be more effective and in control of their life when we have faced our ego. I don’t want to talk about the movie because I don’t want to spoil anything. However, at the end of the movie, Jason Statham finds the peace in his work by letting go of his former self and welcoming a life where he can just play chess. I think everyone should watch this movie, and then sit with the things you are doing and readjust. Thank you so much and enjoy your week.
