Retracing Those Steps

It’s been a month since my trip to Bali, and I still am living off the experience. It’s only been two years since I started emceeing, yet look at what we have accomplished. It’s been an arduous journey before I picked up a mic, but being placed at some of the people’s most prominent moments is warm and welcoming. I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have people believe in the power you have. It was really random for me to pick up a mic and lead people to a night they won’t forget.
Since my trip back from Asia, I have just been trying to understand my transition. I want my business to operate outside of New York. In my two years, I have seen new opportunities in different cities, and this trip has itched me to take the leap and move on to better. The reality struck at my last event, where I had the lowest attendance and participation for an event. I have come from my best experience as an entrepreneur to the lowest. Every entrepreneur needs to retrace their steps and pivot when things are like that. Welcome to this month’s newsletter, Retracing Your Steps.
Xavier Entrepreneurship

Tuesday, we took it back to my high school days, when Red (former teammate) and I gave a talk about Surviving Entrepreneurship to two classes. Joy and excitement overwhelmed me as many students had taken my advice and applied for Xavier. I went to Xavier High School each summer to teach math/entrepreneurship classes to middle school students and encourage them to apply to Xavier. When I heard 311 first-year students were active in the building, I knew some had to come from those long summers of laughs and work.
It felt really good to see students ask questions that not only gave them insight but also challenged me to think about my business in the next five years. I'm super grateful to everyone. Attending this presentation was very important. Thanks to Mr.Massey and Ms. Lobell for throwing the alley-oop.
Sustainable Connections

My love for DC continues to grow exponentially. I fluctuate with new ideas and new spaces every time I visit. I get the opportunity to learn about culture and movement as I continue to build my true definition of success. Terrica, a fashion designer, allowed me to continue to grow and understand culture as she curated an event called Sustainable Connections. At this event, Terrica invited attendees of all backgrounds to network. I just was able to talk nonsense on the mic. It was a great event, and I met outstanding entrepreneurs. I can’t wait to emcee the next one.
The Industry Reaction
There are days when I ask for an assistant, and then other days, my assistant is the higher power. I had forgotten to utilize reaction videos to help promote my TV series, haha. I have been overwhelmed with events and other things that I forgot this was part of my rollout. I woke up on Monday and found a YouTube reviewer, Dono, reacting to my first episode of The Industry. I jumped for joy because I didn’t even have to do any research or anything. Someone gravitated to the work that I was doing. That kind of thing makes you want to keep going. It makes you want to drop another episode. Episode #2 airs on October 28th if you haven’t followed the journey ⬇️.
Conclusion

Retracing your steps is something I encourage every person to do. The process involves connecting with people who have been essential to your growth. I had the chance to return to Syracuse and reconnect with some fantastic people. These people have taught me a different way of thinking. They have also been a force in my lifestyle as an entrepreneur. Reconnecting with them in a short amount of time made me happy! The connection is so real that I met the voice actors of Spongebob and Karen, Tom and Jill. Retracing brought me back to my childhood memories and unlocked a new chapter. I am ready to take on the next chapter of entrepreneurship. I’ll be working on market research in the next few months as I plan to run a big run next year. Thank you for being so supportive.
