Rejection Gave Redirection
How Closed Doors Led Me to My True Path
Introduction
Sitting by the ocean in San Juan, I think about all the opportunities I’ve been rejected for. It may have been a specific job, gig, or even relationship. I might not have been the most qualified in their eyes. It could be one thing that made them turn in the other direction and move without me. I often get mad because I genuinely believe I’m the best for the situation. However, just as they redirected me, I also redirected myself.
Rejection often leads us to paths we didn’t know existed. It opens our third eye and unlocks a new potential we may not have known. I always talk about how evolving my public speaking skills has gotten me into rooms unthinkable. If you told me three years ago that I would host a show in front of 1,000 people, you think I would believe you.
Times are changing, and we need to accept those rejections as redirections. Rebuilding may take time, but it leads us to a path we didn’t think about and skills we wouldn’t work on. This newsletter is dedicated to all who found their light amid darkness.
Arrivederci Release Party

Arrivederci is a perfect phrase to talk about redirection. In Italian, it means Goodbye or Til We Meet Again. For Nikmoody, it’s his welcome-back celebration with a fresh perspective and insight into what his dreams and reality need to be.
On April 5th, we rose to a special occasion as we curated our first Live Nation venue in NYC. This one was different, as Nikmoody really showed up for this event. I am never surprised about the amount of people he is able to bring in one space. It really is a true art to see a creative fostering community the way he does. It was a great show, and I loved seeing the family go up.
BIG SHOUTOUT TO JAMES AND LP for pulling up from Illinois. We going to get right when I am out there.
Bingo Loco
You have played Bingo once in your life. It was a calm sit-down as numbers were called. You may win a prize or play just for fun. However, what if you added a party to it? You wake up to Bingo Loco, and you have me hosting in front of it.
I was blessed these last few months to emcee a new curation called Bingo Loco that is hitting the entertainment market. I have noticed a dying nightlife trend lately, and people are looking for other activities to enjoy with friends. People are joining running clubs, going to trivia nights, and spending a night doing Bingo. It may not be your cup of tea to drink, but this kind of behaviorism is trending, and many companies are taking advantage of this. I am just glad to be ahead of it before I start. If you think I am lying, watch the video below of the 1,000 people in Detroit that I hosted. I hosted.
The Industry: Becoming A Villain
You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
One of my favorite movies, Dark Knight, truly inspired this episode. I vividly remember the scene as foreshadowing as Harvey Dent explains the reasoning behind Batman using Julius Caesar. In his reasoning, he elaborates more on how Batman is looking for someone to take on the responsibilities of the city— the responsibility of being a hero or a villain. At the movie's end, Batman takes on the responsibility of being a hero because it is what Gotham needs.
I bring it to this episode of the industry because the people I work with require me to be a villain. t is to make those tough decisions and follow through with faith and conviction. In this episode, I talk about how the industry has made me become this way, as I was always a naive student of the game. These days, I am Bruce Lee in the industry.
Conclusion
Rejection will always put us at the fork of the road. We may turn around on the steps we took, and find ourselves restarting again. We can fight the rejection and stand tall knowing it isn’t what it is to continue walking in the journey. These days, rejection doesn’t play those roles for me. Rejection is my friend! It is the thing that I have learned to use to not put an expense on my body, my mind, and spirit. If it is more expensive, we take the car key, start the engine, and drive to another destination. Accepting rejection as your friend will bring quality rather than quantity. Trust me, I eat steak medium well now!
