August is one of my favorite months. It is a good middle ground as summer is dying down and the fall season is about to pick up. Every August, I focus on a word that guides me through my reflection and planning for the rest of the year. I create an entire word web that allows me to connect the word to other things that may affect it. This year’s word was restart.
Lately, I’ve been going back to the white board with the passion of starting all over where I first started. A place where I didn’t know as much as I did. I was just hustling at Old Navy, working at a radio station, and learning about the world of entrepreneurship, entertainment, and marketing. There was less pressure. Now, I am an adult, and I got to worry about making the most money to go to brunch every Sunday. At that point, I am dancing with a headache and dehydration trying to stay on path before a crash comes.
The restart will allow me to go back to everything and see how they applied to certain curations and opportunities like this one I did at Colgate University. I am not sure what it will look like in the future, but I have reference points where I can build and continue to grow. Big ups to Colgate Dining and Tiffany Simmons for this opportunity. Looking forward to a bright future.
The Journal
It is always good to work with creatives who understand you as a person and an entrepreneur. Steven has always been Ab-soul of the company. He is all about precision and timing. When he told me about his short film, I had to hop on it in any way possible. We made some heat!
The Journal is a short thriller that depicts a man’s day and how it turns upside down when he purchases a curious black journal. This short was directed, edited, and written by Steven. For me, I had acted in the short. This movie impacts me directly because I journal consistently and fear that my thoughts would come alive one day. The movie was so moving that it got into Mott Haven Film Festival, which I am grateful for. The film can be watched at the festival October 19-22nd. Once I get a confirmed date, I will definitely add to newsletter. You can buy the short on Tivid TV to watch it live and direct.
Empire State Music Festival
Have you heard of Empire State Music Festival? It is the biggest independent music festival in NYC. Created by Kerry Blu, Empire State Music Festival is providing the resources for emerging artists to take their career to the next step. With panel discussions and performances, you have the ability to connect with a ton of individuals. The festival will take place from October 2nd to October 7th. There are 3-day passes, 7 day passes, and individual passes. You don’t want to miss being a part of this festival as it is sponsored by Pirate Studios and Brooklyn Brewery.
Wizard Fest
Another round of Wizardfest completed. This leg went from Syracuse, Poughkeepsie, and Mechanicsburg. I had so much fun and a ton of funny moments. The best part about these events is that people dress up as their favorite character from all parts of the wizard world. When they take off the costume, they go back to their normal life. Some working in Espn like my guy in the Voldemort costume. It is just funny how something so niche can be very popular.
We go back on the road in September as we hit Tampa, Jacksonville, Stuart, Orlando, and Pensacola. Florida is looking to be a very fun time.
Mr. Steal The Show
1/4 of the month of August was dedicated to me relaxing with some family and friends in the DMV. It is my honor to reunite with Tew World Order during this time from as they bring some friends to NYC to host Mr. Steal The Show. This time they are bringing Bucky Malone and Burry to turn up with us. We will be hosting them at All Street Studios from 7pm to 11pm on October 20th. Tickets are $10. Come through and network as they are building the DMV.
Looking Forward.
September is here. I am getting ready for Volume 2. I know I keep talking about it, but there is something that is accompanying this second volume that I want people to see and hear. David Renaud will be helping me bring the idea to life on September 6th at Ivy Studios from 1pm to 5pm if anyone wants to come through. The goal is to have this done before the release of the book. If I need to push the book back, then it is fine. However, I want to keep previewing some of the ideas behind this product.
In the image above, I wanted to show you the 13 chapters that will be featured in Volume 2. The second volume has 30 chapters plus activities you can do with your management team, collective, etc. These chapters are all connected to the idea of creative entrepreneurship and how passion is the fuel for good business structure. I am just telling you how to build the structure into a path on this volume. This one is going to be fun, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it. Keep sharing the work and if you haven’t bought the first volume…YOU KNOW YOU STILL CAN!
