I WILL ASCEND
Timing for Elevation is now
Introduction
This has easily been the most interesting summer I’ve had in a long time.
Normally, my summers are slow—some emceeing gigs, checking out activations, and ending the night dancing until 3 a.m. This year has been the complete opposite. I’ve been consistently booked, creating new streams of income through emceeing while building relationships with brands for future partnerships.
The most impactful conversation I had this month wasn’t about business—it was about identity.
Someone told me they didn’t know the “real” Obas. They couldn’t tell the difference between Emcee Obas and Anthony. My first response was, “They’re the same person. I just talk louder on the mic.”
But that conversation stuck with me. It made me reflect on who I am, how I’m perceived, and whether I’ve become too comfortable. I realized it’s time to evolve.
The rest of this summer is about reflection. And when I come back, I’ll be the same Obas—just more confident, more intentional, and with a stronger backbone.
Think Super Vegeta. Think Apocalypse.
Corporations Loving The Brand

This summer has been filled with unexpected opportunities and meaningful growth.
One goal I had was to partner with corporations to emcee volunteer programs and create experiences that were engaging, interactive, and fun. Thanks to my good friend, A.J. Kirsh, who introduced me to Goodera, that goal became a reality.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to host volunteer events with teams at IBM, PSW, and several other organizations. Every event has reinforced something I strongly believe: giving back should also be an enjoyable experience. Seeing people step away from their computers, laugh, connect with one another, and make an impact has been incredibly rewarding.
I’m grateful for every opportunity and excited for what’s ahead. This is just the beginning of a new chapter, and I can’t wait to continue building on it.
ReRouted: A Klassik Poet Experience
Klassik Poet.’s 2026 hip-hop album, Somewhere in the Grey Area, invites listeners to embrace their own journey toward success. At its core, the album explores the space between intention and destination, reminding us that growth isn’t always linear. Life isn’t simply black and white—it’s grey.
To continue sharing that message, Klassik Poet, Twenty-Four, and I are collaborating on an MTV Unplugged-inspired listening experience. Together, we’ll reimagine select songs from Somewhere in the Grey Area, performing them in an intimate setting at Hudson Yards that brings the music and its message to life in a new way.
If you’ve connected with the album—or simply appreciate live music in an up-close, personal atmosphere—you won’t want to miss this one.
Conclusion

Apocalypse and Vegeta are two characters you don’t often hear compared, but their stories have always stood out to me.
In their own worlds, both are defined by one thing: evolution. They trust their instincts, push beyond what everyone believes is their limit, and when they reach that next level, they both make the same declaration:
“I’ve ascended.”
Those three words aren’t just about power. They’re a reintroduction. A new mindset. A new identity.
For Vegeta, ascension came after humiliation. Android 18 shattered his pride, forcing him to confront the idea that he may have already reached his ceiling. Through relentless training, he proved himself wrong and unlocked a new level of strength. His transformation represented the belief that limits are meant to be broken.
For Apocalypse, ascension came through suffering. Born different, enslaved, and cast aside, he refused to let the world define him. His rise wasn’t just about becoming stronger—it was about embracing the destiny he believed was always his, regardless of who stood in his way.
That’s what ascension means to me.
It’s reaching a point where people no longer question who you are because your actions have already answered it.
Over the rest of the summer, I’ll be doing a lot of writing and reflecting—revisiting why I entered the entertainment industry, what’s changed, and what I need to keep or leave behind. Maybe I’ll even do some of it from the beach.
Because before the next chapter begins, it’s time to ascend.
